19th Mar 2017 - First Southern Zone IE(I) Alumni Association Meet
IEI Alumni Association, with IE(I) Tamilnadu State Centre organised the first ever IEI Alumni Meet for South Zone (Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Pondicherry, Tamil Nadu and Telangana States) in the Tamil Nadu State Centre premises on 19th March 2017. The program was attended by nearly 200 Alumni from across six states of South India and included many successful entrepreneurs, eminent bureaucrats, Educationists, and many distinguished personalities.
The program included release of News Letter, available in the website now, inauguration of mentor mentee Program and announcement of Open House meets to be happening at regular intervals across the country.
Mentorship Program helps Mentors and Mentees meet each other and gain from each others experience. The program is made of three parts. All are Moderated Efforts and efforts are made to keep the content controlled and conducted as per the professional norms of an Engineering community. Mentorship areas include career guidance, technical help, review requests, subject expertise request, personal one on one help in a particular area.
Distinguished Alumni Awards, and Honourable Council member awards were also given out during the program.
Alumni then had a networking session, which went on till late into night.Some of the significant outcomes of the meet include
- identifying many Alumni who are not members of IE(I) and who have now come forward to become members and be active participants
- enthusiasm and volunteerism demonstrated by many alumni where they were willing to start and nurture many programs for students and other alumni
- support for mentorship program and request by many mentees
- Information across the globe for activities of IEI Alumni Association.
